The Power of STICKMAN and PITMAN

How are you feeling? GREAT! Well that’s probably how a lot of people remember the stimulating and inspiring session by Terry Hawkins

In a hilarious and very clever way we were introduced to two characters who play a very powerful part in our lives – PITMAN and STICKMAN. As many of you will recall, Pitman is that very negative part of us that pulls everyone around us down. We all know a Pit person don’t we and we were reminded of how Pit dwellers really “suck” the life out of our business. We can all be Pit People at times but Terry showed us how to recognise this behaviour and the negative languaging that is associated with Pit dwellers, so that we can always strive to have a positive impact on our team and customers. That’s where STICKMAN came into the picture. We learnt about a powerful tool we have inside of our heads and if we think about the language we use we can have a significant impact on ourselves, our results and all those around us. Terry’s message was so simple yet so powerful! Perception is projection – if we perceive the situation as futile then it will be! We were reminded of the importance of living the talk and giving our team and customers an example to follow. Let’s hope we are all constantly reminded of the power of these two characters and aim to be STICKMEN regardless of what life throws at us!
