Big day to shout about
WHAT a day! The Ray White offices of Maroochydore, Buderim, Mooloolaba, Sippy Downs and Mountain Creek as well as Ray White Business Sales and Loan Market came together recently for their very own Big Day Out. “The beauty of having such a large group and great staff is that you actually have the ability to put your very own conference on which can be tailored made to your needs and desired outcome for the year,’’ joint director of the Ray White offices Brett Graham said. Temporary staff were bought in for the day and every team member from reception onwards attended. First on the agenda was outlining significant changes that were made in 2009 and introducing new initiatives in 2010. The new Ray White Mooloolaba office location was unveiled and the merging with Pam Court Realty to create Ray White Mountain Creek was high on the agenda. Social media marketing, print media versus online marketing, Insure and Invest (a new division for Loan Market) were profiled and a new property management platform which allows investors (landlords ) to interact directly with their own property portfolios much like online banking and on line share trading was launched. Highlight for many was guest speaker Terry Hawkins, who is widely regarded as the best female keynote speaker in Australia and New Zealand and has now began breaking into the American market based on demand. “When we were looking for a speaker for the day and when we took into account the message we wanted to deliver we had no option but to engage Terry,’’ Ray White Maroochydore acquisitions manager Jo Madden said. “Her message moved from humorous to seriousness when dealing with day to day issues and work environments. “Terry delivered on her promise and everyone left invigorated and feeling good about themselves as a person.” Property management team member Denise Rowe said “that was so good, it was the best day!” Maroochydore salesperson Rosemary Devery said it was great that partners were allowed to come for the whole day and share in what salespeople do. “Not many agencies would encourage that. And also invite some of our suppliers as well.” “Wow,’’ Lew Pottinger of the Buderim office said, “things have changed since I started with Ray White 15 years ago.” “If only the public could really see how broad based our business is,’’Stuart Rawlins of the new Mooloolaba office said. “It all starts with the property purchase. “Firstly most people need finance, then are they adequately insured? What if they own a business as well, do they have income protection insurance to cover mortgage payments. And if it is a investment property how well is it being managed. I learnt so much from the day.”
