So are you a
PITMAN or STICKMAN
®
Q1.
As you leave for work you slam your finger in the car door. On the way, you encounter a massive traffic jam which will make you late for an important meeting. As you sit in your car, you . .
think to yourself that bad things always happen in 3’s! You start to get nervous, pondering what the third event may be
use the time to plan your day. You then call your best mate to say hi and have a quick catch up
start to criticise how badly other people drive and if it wasn’t for the idiots on the road this traffic jam may have never happened
Q2.
You win Lotto. 10 million dollars!!! Your first thoughts are . . .
You sarcastically say “Great! Now watch all the free loaders turn up. I’ll have everyone on my doorstep thinking they can take me for a loan that I’ll never get back. You know what people are like.”
““Great! . . . But what am I going to do with all that money.” You start to worry about the down side of being wealthy.
“WOW! Imagine what a great life my family and I will have and just think of all the people I can now help.”
Q3.
You have been working for a while on your computer. You feel a headache coming on.
You turn the computer off, drink a big glass of water and take a quick stroll outside in the fresh air. The headache is bound to go once you clear your head.
You are not surprised! You always get a headache at that time of the day. You can almost set your clock by it!!
You continue working but as the headache worsens you start to complain about how your work is not good for your health.
Q4.
You have been given some critical “feedback” from a boss at work about one of your projects. You feel really upset about this criticism.
You remember an incident you saw at a recent company party concerning your boss and a younger colleague!! If word got out about this “incident” your boss would be very embarrassed and humiliated. You decide to send an anonymous group email to all company employees. This will be a good pay back for them picking on you!
You decide to tell another work colleague about the incident. You know they don’t have the best relationship with your boss either, but hey, you’ve gotta share it with someone!
You decide to not tell anyone and you allow yourself some time to process the feedback. As much as it hurts you know that if you wait at least 24 hours the emotion will pass and you will be able to be far more objective.
Q5.
A long term relationship of yours ends. You feel very upset and heart broken that this has happened.
You try to look at the entire relationship objectively to find where it went wrong and what responsibility you both had for its demise. You really want to discover what you did to contribute to the breakdown so you can learn from the experience.
You cannot believe that a person who supposedly loved you so much could do such a thing to you. You start bad mouthing them and blaming them for all the hurt they have caused you. You want everyone to know who they “really” are!
You fall straight into another relationship – you hate being on your own. You hope that this time things will be different. You did all you could to please your last partner and it’s not your fault they didn’t appreciate you.
Q6.
You have made a commitment to get healthy. You have changed your eating pattern and have started running every day. The alarm goes off at 6.00am for your run but a cold breeze blows through a partially open window.
You press the “snooze” button a few times trying to talk yourself into getting up. After the 4th time you realise you have lost 40 minutes running time and now can only run for 20 minutes and not your normal 60 minutes.
You don’t even have a discussion in your head. You simply throw the covers back, put your running gear on and head for that pavement! At the end of the run you think what a great way to start the day.
You roll over and reset your alarm for 7am. You tell yourself it’s freezing outside and you could catch a cold. Even though you didn’t go for your run yesterday, you have been working hard lately and decide that another morning off won’t hurt!! Anyway, you deserve it!
